In our master bathroom, we have “his and hers” sinks. For some reason, the her sink gets massive sludge buildup. It’s so bad that it drains slowly (at best) and I need to disassemble the pipes under the sink to clean out the black sludge. What is this black sludge (it smells like sulfur, perhaps microbial growth when the pipes are opened), what causes it, and what’s the best way to keep things flowing properly?
